Nissan Repair: 2000 nissan frontier, nissan frontier, anly

When I start my truck up after it hs been sitting for a bit,it sounds like a dry start no oil. This anly makes a knocking sound for a few seconds then its fine.other than that the truck performes fine.Please help I dont know if im doing damage.     thank you

Try 5W30 oil if you are not already using it.  The oil drains back to the pan after the vehicle sits for a time.  I use Mobil 1 5W30 in all my cars.  I know Nissan does not recommend synthetic oil but I have used it for something like 20 years and it gets the lubrication going quicker and residual lubrication from clinging helps too.
