Nissan Repair: 2001 Altima, pitman arm, new wheels

Question
I have a 2001 Altima.  I have a problem with vibration at speeds over 65mph.  I put new tires and still had the problem.  I then had new wheels put on and still have a problem.  The vibration is in the steering wheel and can also feel it in the seat.  I have also felt it in the seat at slow speeds at about 25mph.  Could it be the shocks?  Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Jerry -

If you have replaced the tires and wheels, and had it balanced, the only thing left is the struts, or front linkage, including the idler arm, pitman arm, or tie rod ends, especially the ends that goes into the rack. You need to check for play on these components.

I would say if you have not replaced your struts yet, go ahead and do that (you can just replace the inside shock if you want, but ensure that the strut mounting and spacers are solid, and not worn, as this is a common thing).

Hope this helps
