Nissan Repair: Odometer seems to be stuck, vehicle speed sensor, trip meter

My odometer and trip meter stopped while driving for my job. After a whole day
of not moving, it kicked back on for about 3 miles and then stopped again. What
is going on?

You did nto say if yours is digital or numbers that are mechanical.  Anyway, if mechanical I would remove the cluster and lubricate the odometer and if digital the problem is probably circuit related, that is, if the speedometer works.  If both do not work then it is probably the vehicle speed sensor.
