Nissan Repair: 97 Infiniti I30 remote doesnt work well, infiniti i30, signal strength

Question
My remote works, but you have to be up next to the door for it to do so.  Have changed the battery several times with no improvement in signal strength?

It would seem that if the power door lock works at all that would not be the problem.  I have two original Infiniti remotes and both exhibit the same problem.

Try a new remote?

Thanks for your help.

Answer
Aloha Frank -

I would definitely change the frequency of your remote. I think there is a lot of interference with the signal, or the transmission of the remote is just not tuned in correctly to the frequency of the lock receiver.

This is best done by the dealer, unless you know someone who can reprogram.

Hope this helps Frank -
