Nissan Repair: 96 Nissan Altima Oil Leak, valve cover gasket, nissan altima

Question
My altima has a pretty bad oil leak at the front passenger side of the engine. We have changed the gasket on the oil pan and also the oil sending unit, the filter is tight as well. It seems to be coming from somewhere above the oil pan. Also any time the A/C is on there is a loud hissing noise, sounds like air being released, every few minutes. The A/C blows cold it's just annoying. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Answer
Hi Tyler -

Oil leak -
Have you check the valve cover gasket? Does the oil leak more when the engine is running? A good way to check is to clean all areas with brake cleaner aerosol and then after it dries, start the car. Then the oil leak will be more visible. Sometimes it is hard to find when it leaks for a while and the oil is all over the place.

Noise -
Have you checked the A/C belt, or the clutch? With the A/C on, car running, and sound happening, spray the belt with WD40, then spray the clutch. As soon as the sound goes away, then you have found the problem.

Hope this helps
