Question
My trasmssion is acting like a warn out stick shift it stalls when at a stop because gears won't disengage and then it also increases RPM like a slipping cluch??

Help!!

Answer
Dustin,

The lockup torque converter is sticking.  It could be the vacuum switch that is keeping it applied or the clutch itself.  I would get a Haynes Manual or a Factory Service Manual and locate and unplug the electrical connector to the lockup torque converter.  If this does not do the trick the torque converter has to be replaced which means the transmission will ahve to be removed from the cra to get it out.  This is alow the cause or the increase in RPMs as he car is attempting to compensate.
