Hi Von, my Maxima's heater A/C fan is stuck on high.  (Almost high)  I can press the speed control and it will change from high to very high but that is it.  I have replaced the in-dash control unit.  Just had the heater core replaced in November.  Heat takes a long while to kick in.  Desperate.

If the blower only works on high the resistor for the blower motor needs to be replaced.  It is located on the heater box, under the dash, on the passenger side.  Purchase the new one and you will see what it looks like.  There are only two screws that holt it.  And, the plug and that is it.  You will have to remove the glovebox to access it.
