Nissan Repair: Uneven Idle Terrano II, terrano ii, throttle linkage

I have a 1998 Nissan terrnao II 2.7 TDi and it runs fine but has really bumpy idle below 1 rpm and it lurches  up and down. I've changed the MAF for one from a breakers as it is the Hitachi one and is £500 from Nissan and this didn't work, (how can i check the maf) I've also changed the fuel filter and that hasn't worked either.

Hi Clare -

Is your check engine light on? If so, the quickest way is to just have it diagnosed.

Also it is important to note if the condition happens when the car is warmed up, cold, or all the time?

It is most likely the idle solenoid. Find the solenoid near the throttle linkage and disconnect it, and see if that helps.

Could also be the cold start valve if it only happens when the car is warming up.
