Nissan Repair: check eng light, nissan quest, solenoid

I have a 1995 nissan quest with a check eng light on
the engine rpm goes high and low a tune up has been done can the iac be bad and how do you retrive codes from this veh?

Could be the idle control solenoid is getting wrong signals from the computer. Because the CEL is on, it probably is related.

To retrieve codes you will need the diagnostic tester. I hate to say this, but you must take it to a repair shop that has this device. You can get it yourself, but it is just not worth it. The tester will plug into the car's computer and downlaod information, and tell you what sensor is causing the problem.
