Nissan Repair: A/C Problems, passenger seat, 2002 altima

I have a 2002 Altima and recently I turned the temperature knob from cold to hot and I heard a pop or snap and a small plastic piece in the shape of a broken disc appeared on my passenger seat. Now when I turn the temperature knob back to hot, all that blows out is cold air. I think that this plastic piece which came out may have controlled the thermostat somehow. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks, Kyle

I think the part that broke off is the back of the control.  You will need to remove the control panel and check the back of it.  If this is not the case then it is the blend door motor that has broken.  This is under the dash on the passenger side.
