Nissan Repair: Nissan 1986 300ZX Rear Suspension Member Insulator, control arm bushings, haynes repair manual

Question
QUESTION: Hello,
My 300ZX Squeaks and makes alot of Suspension Noise when driving. I finally isolated it to the bushings that fit into the Suspension Member Assembly. When I put the car on the lift I could see a space where these connect and I sprayed them with silocone and the noise was almost gone. I would like to replace these "Member Insulators"( according to my Haynes repair manual). What is the procedure for doing this and is the description of the part correct or is it called something else?
Thanks in advance
Pat,

ANSWER: Pat,

Basically, you purchase a new differential mount bushings. there are two.  Unbolt the differential and drive out the old bushings and install the new ones.  Here is a link to the nismo catalog...  http://www.nismoparts.com/catalog/?section=214

QUESTION: Hi,
The bushings I'm talking about are on the front of the suspespension member assembly that connects the suspension to the car body on each side.
thanks again for your help.

Answer
Pat,

If you are talking about the front control arm bushings I would replace them by taking them off and pressing out the old bushings and installing new ones.  If you are going to the trouble of replacing them you should check the ball joints too and then get an alignment.  It helps to have a press to drive the old ones out and the new bushings in.
