Nissan Repair: nissan 300 zx 86 ingnition problems?, nissan 300z, haynes manual

my nissan 300z was running i turnrd it off. went to start back would not,will turn over,fuel pump works by relay.otherwise it dont come on.bought new computer,no power,no lights,new coil.but no spark,not the crank angle.how do i know if the switch is bad.lots of new parts.

If the fuel pump works when you jump the relay and the computer has no lights, even the new one, would lead me to think you have a power problem.  I would check the master fuses and fuse links at the positive terminal.  Also, check the ignition switch for wear.  Pull the bottom off the column cover and unplug the harness to see if you get power to the switch and for continuity coming out of the switch.  Get a Haynes Manual for the harness wire colors.  If you have power to the switch and not coming out of it would mean the switch needs to be replaced.  If there is no power to the switch means you need to check upstream where the battery connects to the car.
