Nissan Repair: Nissan maxima, mass airflow sensor, air control valve

Question
okay, I should have added the other two questions you previously answered......1998 nissan maxima w/ 134,000 miles. V6 aoutomatic. I have replaced spark plugs, air filter, coolant temp. sensor, fuel filter. This car is now in the shop and they replaced the idle air control valve and have ran numerous tests.(traced all the wiring and checked sensors), fuel pressure test also. This car does not want to start when the temperature outside changes. If it is warm, it starts every time. When it is cold outside you have to hold the gas pedal down part way and then it will start. Is this normal? They are baffled and banging their heads on the wall at the Nissan shop. Any help in this matter will be greatly apprececiated.

Answer
Debra,

Make sure they replaced the temoerature sensor for the comptuer and not the one for the gauge on the instrument cluster.  There are two so just have them check.  Also, have them do an ohm check on the mass airflow sensor as these are known to cause the problem.
