Nissan Repair: 1998 nissan pathfinder misfire code, vacuum leaks, nissan pathfinder

Question
i am receiving a multiple misfire code have changed plugs, wires, distributor cap, roter button checked for vacuum leaks had oxygen sensor checked by a nissan mechanic who owns his own shop he is completely stumped do you have any advice

Answer
Robin,

If the optical pickup and receiver in the distributor are good and no oil is present I would check the compression on the engine and make sure the engine does not have excessive blowby.  Also, check to make sure the fuel injectors are not leaking.  Too much or too little gas can cause the code.  Lastly, I noted that you did not say you replaced the coil.  If the coil is defective it will cause this code too.
