Nissan Repair: underhood sensors, harness connector, great shape

Question
I may be buying a 93 300zx and it looks in great shape. The owner said a z person told him all the sensor pigtails under the hood were corrided and needed to be cleaned. Is this something they are known for and can these be cleaned?

Answer
Jack,

If the connectors are corroded then they can be cleaned or replaced.  I would have the person show me what they are talking about since it could be the main harness connector or some of the sensor connectors themselves.  Tuner cleaner from Radio Shack is good along with compressed air and then followed by WD40.  Then reconnect the harness or connector.  If you like, di-electric grease can be used instead of WD40.
