Nissan Repair: Possible electrical problem., nissan altima gxe, nissan altima

Question
My issue is two fold really, maybe they are related and maybe they are not.

I have a 93 Nissan Altima GXE SE w/ 5sp and 250k miles on it.  My problems just started and they are probably just coincidental.

1.  When it rains and I crank the car up.  The rear windows will automatically roll down.  I would use the main driver panel to roll them up but they will roll back down.  I would have to use the button on the rear doors to roll the windows back up and they will stay there.
To me this sounds like a short somewhere.

2. Also, it just started but the speedometer / odometer stopped working.  Now, I did go get this checked out and was told it was a speed sensor. Well, it was replaced and the items would work only 1/4 the time.  I took it back and had another one put in and the same thing happened.  Yesterday, I had a 3rd one put in and watched it done this time and now it works.  However, this morning from coming to a store.  I had to hit the brakes hard, not enough to lock them but to drop the nose an inch.  The car maintained rolling, I know I was going over 10 mph by then, and the speedometer dropped to zero and stayed there.  I then came to a red light, stopped, the light turned green and I went on and the speedometer was working afterwards.

The computer in the car was supposedly checked for error codes and none where found.  At this point, I am not sure where to go with this before spending a lot of time working this or these problems.

Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

Answer
For your first problem with the windows sounds like a failing master window switch. Power for every window in the car runs off that driver switch, its probably shorting inside that switch. Try a different one. On the second problem I would make sure that the connector is tight and the terminals inside are tight. I have seen a few speedo heads fail in these cars. If the speed sensor is OK The next time it drops out, bang on the top of the dash to see if it works again. If it does its in the head.
