Nissan Repair: 1990 nissan 300zx, 1990 nissan 300zx, nissan 300zx

My son replaced the alternator and put the power wire on with out the rubber spacer and then when he put the battery terminal on it sparked and shot sparks.  I have went through and hooked everything up right and the battery did not spark when connected.  When I went to get in the car I noticed no power to the interior and the car would not do anything when the key was turned nothing happened.  I have checked the battery 12.2 volts the ground wire is connected I looked at the fuses by the battery What else could it be regards Shannon

You are going to have to check every fuse in the car and replace those that have blown.  Also, each system should be checked to make sure it works. Having the system ground like you describe really messes up electrical components.  Also, if the car will run take it to Autozone or Checker and have the charging system checked to make sure it is still charging.
