Nissan Repair: 98 Nissan Frontier battery and alternator keep going bad, radio amplifiers, nissan frontier

Question
2.4 liter engine, 4 cylinder. It would not start so I replaced the battery, then the battery died and i found out the alternator was bad, so I replaced the alternator and charged the battery. It ran for a few days then it died again. I push started it into second to get it to a repair shop and on the way the engine started chugging real bad and the airbag light started flashing. They told me the the battery had a bad cell and the alternator was bad. So I replaced both the battery and the alternator again and drove it for two days and now it is chugging again and undriveable.

Answer
Adam,

I would look at what is overloading your circuitry.  If the alternator is blowing and the battery is killing cells there is something overloading your system.  I would get it on an electrical test system like Checker or Autozone to do a free check.  I would be looking at aftermarket radio amplifiers and such that would overload your system.
