Nissan Repair: 95 Nissan Sentra GXE 1.6 L Battery/ Alternator Problem, sears diehard battery, nissan sentra gxe

This is what the story is. My battery and brake light turned on together and while we were taking it to the garage, the car died. We had the car jump started to get it in position for towing and took it to Goodyear who replaced the alternator. On the test drive the car died again. Goodyear then replaced the alternator again and put in a new battery. The car then ran fine. So they told us that our Sears DieHard battery was faulty (said it might have a cracked plate) and it killed the new alternator. They recommended a new battery. We just had the battery replaced 6 months ago so we took it back to Sears since we still under warranty. Sears said the battery is good and Goodyear put in a bad alternator the first time. Sears told us to have Goodyear put our Sears battery back into the car and the car would then be fine. I am not sure what to do. I dont want to have to replace the alternator again. Please help. Thanks

I would have tbhe Diehard load tested to determine if it has a cell that is shorting under load.  Go to Pep Boys or Autozone to confirm.  But, the car works proerply now so I would not put the other battery back in either way.  If the battery tests defective get Sears to give your money back.
