Nissan Repair: 2000 Xterra exhaust maifold, air fuel mixture, exhaust manifold

Question
I was told by my service department that my right exhaust manifold was broken and should be replaced soon. The noise has recently gotten louder and i am concerned that i am causing more problems driving it still before it gets fixed. Should I be getting it fixed ASAP?

Answer
Cathy,

Yes, the manifold needs to be replaced soon as the air entering the exhaust is messing with the air fuel mixture and that causes the Xterra think that it is running lean so the injectors are running too much gas on that side and that could cause the converter to melt due to too much gas.  Get it repaired ASAP.
