Nissan Repair: Car wont crank, nissan altima, mercury switch

Question
My husband repaired the rear brakes on our daughter's car.He backed the car onto a set of ramps to bleed the brake line. Afterwards we could not crank it. Won't even turn over. We pushed it off the ramps and let it sit for an hour still will not turn over.Battery is not dead. By putting it on the ramps, did we trigger an anti theft device? How can we reset it?Help.1993 Nissan Altima  Automatic trans.

Answer
Martha,

The car should not have an angle sensor on the factory alarm.  If there is an aftermarket one it could be possible.  Look under the hood for a clear box that has a mercury switch in it if you have an aftermarket alarm.  If that is the case get up under the dash and hit the valet switch reset.
