Nissan Repair: 240sx shifting problems, nissan 240sx, window regulators

Question
Hello,

I purchased a Nissan 240sx knowing it had a shifting problem ; it had been in storage for over a year and before that period the problem didn't exist. The transmission does not know when to shift , therefore it only shifts at 6,000 revs.

Another problem, is that the passenger window remains STUCK down. I took off the panel and noticed that the wire went down into the pulley loose and came out tight, the window is receiving power. (When i first received it was MINT ; suddenly stopped working) motor seems to be in perfect condition

Answer
Sebastian,

The shifting problem is due to the governor sticking.  You could do a fluid change on the transmission and see if it will free up or you are going to end up taking it to a transmission shop to get the governor or the gallery that feeds it cleaned and or replaced.  The window regulator is screwed up and will need to be replaced.  Most window regulators come with a new motor and it is just a matter of replacement.
