Nissan Repair: Wheel bearings, rear bearings, wheel bearings

Question
I suddenly have a roaring sound coming from the back of my 2003 Altima.  I put on new tires two months ago, so I took it back to the installer today and they performed a rotate and balance.  The noise is still there which makes me think it is not the tires.

From what I've read on this site, it sounds like it could be the bearings???  Is there anything else you could think of that it could be?

If it is the bearings, is this a difficult/expensive fix?  And, I can't really get it to the dealer for about a week and I drive abouth 130 miles a day.  If it is the bearings, is it better that I not drive it for the next week (I have access to another vehicle if necessary)?

One more question have is that when I start my car in the morning and back out of the garage, there is a strong smell (almost like fuel, but more like rotten eggs)??  Any idea what that could be.

THANKS

Answer
Tammy,

There was a service bulletin on most 2003 Nissans for the fuel lines needing inspection and possibly replacement.

I would get the car on a lift to check the rear bearings as I have not heard anything on rear bearings for your particular model and year.

Be sure to call the dealer and have them check to see if your car is part of the service bullttin/recall for fuel lines.
