Nissan Repair: Starter For 95 Nissan Maxiam, nissan maxiam, nissan maxima

Just found out that I need to replace my starter in my 95 Nissan Maxima. Two people told me to pound/hit the starter a few times because sometimes they get stuck. Question - Where is the starter?? The guy at walmart said on the passenger side & should be located one of the belt. Its this true and what does it look like??

Never hit a late model starter as the fields in the case are ceramic and they will crack.  On old style starters from the 1970s you could get away with it but the new ones will break.  The starter is on the drivers side under the air intake duct.  It is above the transmission and mounts with bolts to the bellhousing.  The link below is from Autozone and it shows what you need to do to replace yours.
