Nissan Repair: 2000 maxima gle stalling at idle, air control valve, dashpot

Question
Hello,

I have a 2000 maxima gle with ~112,000 miles on it.  About a couple months ago I had all 6 of my ignition coils replaced because the car began to stall.  It worked fine for a month then the same problem started occurring.  I took it back to the dealership and they said there was a lot of carbon build up and recommended an engine flush.  So I had them do that and the car worked fine for about 3 weeks.  Recently, it has begun to do the same exact thing.  Although it's not as frequent as before, the car will occasionally idle rough and randomly stall.  Sometimes it will begin to idle below 500rpms and it feels like it is struggling to get back to normal idle speed.  Since I've already had all my ignition coils replaced and an engine flush done what could the problem possibly be now?  I took it to the dealership and they couldn't duplicate the problem.... took it to carmax and they couldnt duplicate the problem.... but randomly it will stall when i'm driving idling at a stop sign or a red light.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Answer
Waqas,

I would have the idle air control valve cleaned or replaced depending on how clogged it it.  Another item tht can cause the idle problem is hte idle dashpot on the throttle body.  If this is weak or stuck the idle will be screwed up.  These are the two things that can cause your idle problem.  I have a 2000 Maxima and those are what I have cleaned, repaired and replaced.
