Nissan Repair: 2001 Nissan Pathfinder keyless entry malfunction, nissan pathfinder, electric locks

I have a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder.  They keyless remote works intermittently at best.  I have replaced the battery, replaced the relay switch and reprogrammed both fobs.  Even though the remote is not functioning, when I push the unlock, I can hear under the driver's side dash a click, but when I push the lock, there is no click.  Any suggestions on what to try next?

If the relay is working under the dash but the lock is not working check to see that the electric locks work from inside the car or from the driver's side door.  If the electric locks work but not the remote then you are looking at replacement of the relay under the dash or the body control module if the relay does not correct the problem.
