Nissan Repair: 97 altima doesnt always start., fuel pump relay, fuel pressure

My wife has a 97 altima. Sometimes it doesn't start. The engine turns over and it gets spark but won't start. If you wait a minute or so and try again it starts sometimes though you have to try a few times before it will start. I'm not seeing any pattern to it. It's just random. Thank you.  Steve

If you are getting spark and the problem is intermittent I would be looking at the fuel pump or the fuel pump relay.  Check the fuel pressure and see if it is within range.  Also, if the filter has not been replaced it would be a good time to replace the fuel filter.
