Nissan Repair: i dont know, nissan hardbody, oil light

Hi Von, well i have a 95 nissan hardbody and i was driving home and i stopped at a light for a sec and when i was taking off in second it made it horrible grinding noise but the in higher gear sounded fine when i stopped about a mile later i got out and the engine was smoking and anti freeze was leaking from the bottom so i think the line broke and i bought some antifreeze to put it in so i could get it to my friends shop like a mile down the round when i turned it on it made a bad grinding noise i was wondering if this over heat may have ruined my engine, thank you patrick

Sopunds like the water pump is toast and that is causing the noise.  You did not say the oil light came on or that it was so hot it was hurt.  My experience is the noise comes from the water pump.  You will need a new pump as well as the belt.
