i have a 96 nissan altima that needs a new knock sensor and i need detailed step by step instructions on how to replace it

It is just a matter of removing the old one and installing the new one.  But, there are items that need to be removed to get to it.  I would purchase a Haynes Manual for the pictures and instructions.  Chilton is another good source.  If you are hard up for cash you can go tot the library and copy the pages you need.  The one thing you really need to remember is not to drop or over tighten the knock sensor as they are sensitive to shock as well as over tightening.
