Nissan Repair: WRONG MODULE ENGINE IN NISSAN XTERRA 2001, barometric pressure sensor, nissan xterra

Question
I HAVE A 2001 NISSAN XTERRA, I WENT TO GO TAKE MY CAR FOR A EMISSIONS TEST AND IT FAILED BECAUSE IT SAYS SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT SOON. IT FAILED WITH A P002 BARAMOTIC PRESSURE, SOMETHING LIKE THAT. SO ANYWAYS I TOOK MY CAR TO GET IT DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY SAID THAT I HAVE THE WRONG CONTROL MODULE ENGINE IN MY CAR AND ITS GONNA COST ME 900 DOLLARS, I WAS LIKE WHAAT. I DONT HAVE THAT MUCH MONEY, I WONDER IF I GO SOMEWHERE ELSE BESIDES A DEALERSHIP AND FIX IT FOR ME CHEAPER, I WANT TO GET IT DONE BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WHEN I DONT HAVE THAT MUCH MONEY AND I NEED MY CAR FIXED ASAP

Answer
Sandy,

I would go to Autozone and have them run the code to confirm the barometric pressure sensor code and then purchase it and install it.  Then, return to have them delete the code.  Then re-smog the Xterra and you should be fine.  I think they are full of it when they say it has the wrong computer as the car has run for how long with the computer?  Email me back if you need more.
