Nissan Repair: replacing engine..., engine management computer, nissan xterra

I have a simple question. I own a 2000 Nissan Xterra 4x4. Could I put a diesel engine in this?

If a diesel was offered it would be a possibility.  But, you need to consider all the things that would have to be changed from the engine management computer to the complete exhaust system and the fuel system too.  If you had a doner vehicle you could source all the parts from it would be a much more cost effective exchange.  But, I would not do it.
