Question
QUESTION: Hey, I have a 98 Altima. A code comes up  p0180 tank fuel temperature sensor. Nobody from nissan can tell me what this part is or where it is located. they said it could be the fuel pump or fuel sending unit. I need help on finding out what it is before i sink more money into this car. thanks

ANSWER: There's a temperature sensor in the tank next to the fuel pump. It's only used for EVAP and is monitored by the PCM for diagnosis only. It has no effect on engine management or fuel control.

QUESTION: Great!! your Awesome. Could you tell me how to get the part or dose it come with the fuel pump or sending unit. Nobody at the dealership could tell me. You should be working for them.

Answer
First test it.
This is a simple two wire circuit. There's a connector under the back seat for the sensor. Make sure there's 5 volts on the green wire with red tracer (5 volt ref from PCM). Make sure other is grounded. If so, measure the resistance across the two going into the tank (this will measure the sensor) tell me what you get.
