Nissan Repair: help, nissan altima, foot on the gas

Question
i own a 1993 nissan altima and the gas pedal dont work. when you press it the pedal doesnt respond

Answer
Joseph,

Sounds like the throttle cable is broken or come off the throttle.  Open the hood and look where the air hose connects to the engine and the cable will be close by.  With the engine off and someone in the car pressing on the throttle see what is going on at the throttle body.  If the cable is broken get one from a wrecking yard and install it where it does not bind or prevent the throttle from closing when you do not have your foot on the gas as it is adjustable.  Look at the way it connects on the wrecked car you source it from.
