My 1997 Nissan Maxima oil lights came on recently. Which motor oil should I fill. I have no idea on this.

If the oil light came on it could be low on oil or the oil pump could be going out or the pressure sensor port could be blocked.  I would change the oil to 5W30 and use whatever brand you like.  I use Mobil 1 synthetic. Now, I would add oil to the full line before I drove it anywhere.  So, be sure you have oil in it and if the light is on do not drive it until you get the oil pressure checked by a mechanic with a pressure gauge that proves the car has oil pressure or you could blow up the engine.  Check the oil level first and if it is full and the light is on do not drive it.
