Nissan Repair: 88 300zx transmission, flexplate, 300zx

i just put in an automatic transmission and when i went to start the car the starter just cliks and it sounds like the starter is bound on the flywheel

Remove the starter and check it to see that it works.  If it turns over check to see that it is installed correctly and is not binding.  If you used the same flexplate, and starter it probably means that the starter is in need of replacement.  If other components were used check for interference.
