Nissan Repair: Advice and recommendation, head gaskets, head gasket

Question
HI,
I have a 93 twin turbo, manual 300zx which needs a new head gasket. My mechanic can't tell which cylinder doesn't have any compression because he hasn't taken the heads off. If the Head gasket has gone, where can I go to get it fixed as this was imported and noone seems to be able to help me.

Hoping you can help or advise
Thanks

Caz

Answer
Caz,

I do not know what country you live in.  But, the engine on the 300ZX is easy to work on.  Basically, go to rockauto.com and order an engine set of gaskets to do the job.  Find a machine shop that can surface heads and with a set of metric tools you could do it yourself.  Now, remember to check the converters to see if they are blocked and that the turbo over pressure release system is working since something had to cause the head gaskets to blow.  Replace both at once to make sure you are not going to have another blow on the other side.  Let me know where you live and I will see if I can find information on shops in your area.
