Nissan Repair: speedometer jump, speedmeter, speed sensor

When I go over 65 mph in my 95 pathfinder SE, the speedometer jumps to 70 mph. Is my speed sensor at the automatic transmission faulty or is it the speedmeter in the instrument panel?

I would say the speed sensor first since it is the usual part to fail.  When you say it does it over 65 and then jumps to 70 is an indicator to me that it is the sensor instead of the speedometer.  Now, if your speedometer makes noise while you drive it would be the speedometer.
