Answer
Kingsley,

The first thing is to make sure things are clean and the second is to get factory Nissan gaskets and the gray sealer.  Note that anything that rotates and has a seal should be groove free.  I have seen jobs that I have had to redo for someone where the cover was replaced and the crank was trashed and needed to be replaced.  They just installed a new seal and the groove tore up the seal and the leak was back.  The other thing that is vital is not to damage the sealing surfaces when you clean off the gasket sealer.  If you are already in there replace the water pump if it has not been replaced recently.  Also, make sure the chain is in good working order and the guides and tensioner are good.  Lastly, keep things clean as a little piece of gasket material can trash your oil pump.
