Nissan Repair: Nissan Primera P12 MI Light on steady, nissan primera p12, malfunction indicator light

My daughter was driving home in her Primera P12 when the Malfunction Indicator light came on Steady also the Monitor display Engine warning Msg. displayed. She called into a Nissan garage they checked and said that there was a fuel system lean burn problem. It would have to be checked out and could be wiring or a unit at fault. Does this need urgent attention?  Can I do any further trouble shooting?

The Nissan shop seems to be spot on since it is a lean burn problem and the sensor picked it up.  They car figure out if the wiring to the o2 sensor or the sensor itself.  Once they get it on a scanner they can tell if the fuel pressure is out of range and if it needs to be addressed by a filter or the regulator itself.  Basically, it needs to be put on the computer to fully diagnose.
