Nissan Repair: 2002 Maxima GLE short circuit, amp fuse, maxima gle

My daughters 2002 maxima won't stsrt or turn over.The 120 amp fuse coming off the battery positive treminal was blown and when replaced it blew again.Can you point me in the right direction?What does this fuse control.No prior notice this just occured out of the blue.any help is appreciated.

Sounds like the starter is locked up and shorted internally.  When you replace the fuse it blows.  The fuse is the feed from the alternator.  Has the alternator been replaced recently?  If so, there might be a short in the wire that feeds current from the alternator to the battery.
