Nissan Repair: ABS light, speed sensors, brake fluid

Question
What are the possible causes of the ABS light coming on? It may be a coincidence, but I just had my front tires replaced and I am not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Answer
Michele,

If the shop damaged a wire going to one of the speed sensors on the front wheels that could cause the ABS light to come on.  But, that is doubtful.  I would think the brakes need to be looked at an might need to be bled with new brake fluid.  If you have the car put on a lift you can see if the wires to the sensors are connected and not damaged.  Also, if the ABS light is on you can get the code downloaded.  But, since it is ABS this will have to be done at a shop that has the correct scanner.
