Nissan Repair: 97 sentra drive shaft, transaxel, drive shaft

Question
I am trying to pry the front drive shaft from the transaxel.  I have been working on the passenger side axle w/no success.  I have everything disconnected (knuckle and mounting bolts). Do you have any suggestions on how to do this? I am working with the car on good jack stands but not much room to pry.  I would appreciate any help.

Answer
Scott,

I am trying to remember the Sentra as opposed to the Maxima.  Is there a bearing in the middle on the passenger side?  That is, check the length of the one that you are going to replace the old one with.  The last one I did was  a Maxima and it unbolted from a bearing holder behind the engine and you did not need to pry it out of the transmission since that part of the shaft stayed with the car.  The outer shaft came out and was replaced.  If you have a Chilton for your car or a Haynes it will have a blowup diagram.  Also, if it does not it is just a matter of getting between the axle and the case and pop it one good one and it will come out.
