Nissan Repair: 99 Infiniti QX4 headlamp\key buzzer, infiniti qx4, blown fuses

Question
On my 99 QX4, when you turn off the car and the headlights are still on, I get no warning tone. Also, when leaving the key in, door open, and engine off, no buzzer. I also noticed yesterday that I do not have to depress the brake pedal to shift out of Park.Once the key is on, it can be shifted to any gear without the brake pedal being depressed. I can't find any blown fuses or fusible links. I bought it used and it has been like this since day one. I think the problems may all be related, but I don't have a FSM to troubleshoot with. Also the interior lights go off as soon as the door is shut. I would think they would have a delay dimmer, but I am not positive about it.I can't find any evidence of an aftermarket alarm, so I don't think the wiring has been hacked up or modified. It all looks factory. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Answer
Brian,

You can get the FSM from http://www.nissantechinfo.com/nissan/default1.asp?mscssid=

It is only $20 bucks for an hour of access.  The files are .pdf and are easy to download and print.

It would my assumption that the previous owner hated the buzzer and disconnected it.  I have done that more times on cars that I can remember.  If it was not mechanically disconnected the body control module can be programed using the Consult II to disable the noise.  The shift interlock is probably broken and was removed.  If you take the shifter cover off you can access the solenoid and see if it has been removed or screwed in the unlocked position.  The interior light can be adjusted to studio dimming with the Consult II to either turn off instantly or slowly.  Again, the vehicle must have been owned by a picky individual...
