Nissan Repair: 1995 Nissan Altima wont start, nissan altima, shaft seal

Question
a couple of days ago my Nissan started acting up.  it started fine, but for the first couple of minutes, it would stutter and stall.  Once I got going, it was fine.  Then it just died while I was driving.  I got it started again and made it home.  Once I pulled into the driveway it died again.  Since then it won't start.  I've replaced the fuel filter and checked the fuel pump, it's working fine.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Terry,

Check the distributor for correct operation.  The car is a 95 and the shaft seal could be bad and that would cause oil to get on the optics and then you would not get a spark.  To check this remove the cap, rotor and distributor cover and check the optics and shutter wheel for oil.
