Nissan Repair: solenoid, dexron iii, reason delay

Question
I have a 2002 Suzuki Jimny (automatic) with low mileage (17K).  More than
two months ago it undergone 20T KM Service at authorized Suzuki Service
Center in our area (though annual service should only be done in Jan.2007)
would like to make sure that there will be no problem because it was flooded
(but the car was working).

Less than a month after i returned the car. I noticed that the automatic
transmission was not working properly (delay shifting).  They did the
following jobs:
1. Check automatic transmission delay shifting
2. Apply checking procedure - valve body & trouble code# P0730, P0705,
P1887
3. Pull down oilpan to check internal condition
4. Change ATF (Dexron III)
5. Fix Electrical Wiring

Total bill was about US$170.  They didn’t find anything except the loose
wiring.

Now in less than a month I need to return the car again for same reason –
delay shifting. The gearshift so slow from 1st to 2nd and 3rd gear and once
put on breaks the car seems like a horse when it stops. The new finding now
is due electrical problem and recommended to change the solenoid inside the
transmission.  What is the reason it has to be change despite of its low
mileage? Is it because it was flooded? How much it will cost me? How come
they didn’t find it when I brought it for service and for checking the
transmission? They said there’s no indication. What about that trouble codes?
Is it really the one causing the problem?

Would really appreciate your help.

Thank you and God bless!

Answer
Abby,

The valve body electrical is a known problem for this vehicle.  SOme of them are bad and some run for many years with no trouble.  Once it is changed you should be fine.  The bill for $170 was well within reason for what they did.  Let me know what they are charging for the replacement.  Also, does yours only do this when it is cold?  I had one that did only for the first five minutes...  Then, it ran fine for the rest of the day.
