Nissan Repair: 95 pathfinder starting problem, starter solenoid, solenoid

I drove home (10 min.), stopped engine. Went to start 15 min. later, got nothing, engine doesn't turn over & no sounds at all (no clicking of the solenoid or anything).
Left overnight, started fine and ran fine. Started and stopped engine a few times, it happened again. left it for a few min., started right up. How do I diagnose the problem in the starting system (have the hayes manual). Also I looked at replacing the starter/solenoid, there no clearance to get it out once detached. What has to be removed.

Hi Jeff,

Sounds like the starter is over heating. Replace the starter and have a nice holiday. I had one of these and loved it. Towed a boat every weekend at 85 mph for a year, then the transmission grenaded on me. I know it looks difficult, but it is not that bad.
