Nissan Repair: Nissan Maxima Radiator Fans, radiator replacement, radiator fans

Question
So what can I do?  Do I check the fuses? Can I replace the fan thermostat that
you talked about? Honestly,  I am trying my hardest to avoid to going to a
mechanic. I am pretty handy mechanically when I am given some directions. I
will try the A/C fan trick to see if they are getting power.  I look forward to
your response.  You have already been extremely helpful. Thanks again.

-----Question-----
I have 92' Maxima, V6, that is overheating.  I have changed the thermostat. It
still over heats.  The radiator fans are not cutting on at any point. It did not
overheat at high speeds which leads me to believe the problem is the fans.
Any
help on changing them or figuring out the problem would be helpful.
-----Answer-----
I agree Matthew, it's the fans. It's probably not the fan motors though, likely
electrical. There is a plug to disconnect the fans in case of radiator
replacement that Nissan has a TSB out on. Moisture will corrode the
connection. Before you do that, the fans will come on when the A/C is on,
regardless of the temp. Try that to see if we have power to them. If we do
then it's the fan thermostat. Electrical, of course. Let me know and we'll get
more into it.

Answer
Hi Matt,

Yes, please check all the fuses and that connector on the wire from the fan motors for corrosion. Then start the car and turn on the A/C. Check to see if the fans came on. If they do, then it will be a bad fan thermostat and we should be able to do it ourselves! If they don't, it will be a bad fuse or connector. So let me know what you found so we can take further corrective measures. Don't worry, this one isn't that tough, you should be able to fix this, no problem!
