Nissan Repair: coil location for nissan, transistor switches, rotor head

Sorry for the following question, but in learning anything go's.

Nissan 2000, altima, 4 cyl, ka24de L30, auto, engine.

Where is the location of the ignition coil? Von said it would be on top of the spark plugs, and a 10 mm wrench would take them off.
This odd nissan does not have this.It is a deep plug wire with spark plug. No coil on top. No regular coil wire on dist. either? bought the nissan new.

please help, von was not taking questions at this time.

My cohart was correct but for the later version.

Ignition coil & power transistor
The ignition coil is built into the distributor. The ignition signal from the ECM is sent to the power transistor. The power transistor switches on and off the ignition coil primary circuit. As the primary circuit is turned on and off, the proper high voltage is induced in the coil secondary circuit.
The distributor is not repairable and must be replaced as an assembly except for the distributor cap and rotor head.

NOTE: The rotor screw which secures distributor rotor head to the distributor shaft must be torqued properly.

Torque: 3.3 - 3.9 N.m (0.34 - 0.40 kg.m, 29.5 - 34.7 in.lb)
