Nissan Repair: 1995 Nissan Quest Transmission 3.0 GXE, nissan quest, electronic repairs

My transmission shifts rough.  Usually it's more apparent when the engine is cold and it's usually just the first shift that jerks.  I have been told that it's best at this point not to have a transmission flush service because that may make it worse.  Is my transmission going out?  Is there anything I can do to make it last longer?

Hi Jim,

The transmission in that Quest is the most reliable transmission on the market at that time. I have looked at only 19 of these over the last 11 years and only 1 needed a transmission, the rest were electronic repairs. If you have a check engine light on you need to have it scanned as soon as possible. I would do it even with no light on just to be on the safe side. Cottman transmissions will gladly scan your car for free. Oh, and BTW your correct, do not change the fluid.
