Nissan Repair: Engine idle, nissan frontier, zone rep

Question
I have a 2001 Nissan frontier 2 wheel drive with a 4 cylinder and when driving in gear and deactivating the clutch the idle drops to 1000 not 750. How can this be repaired? The dealer says it is normal though they charged me 90 dollars and no fix. Please advise

Answer
Chuck,

The engine idles high.  I would clean the throttle body and the idle air control motor.  Usually, the combination of the two getting dirty keeps the idle high.  Some dealers are not sensitive to the customer's needs.  This commands attention and the idle should be no higher than what is indicated under the hood.  There is a sticker that tells the idle the truck should run at and I think it is 750 RPMs too.  If they charged me $90 bucks and did nothing I would take it back and explain.  If they can't get it right get the Nissan zone rep involved and if that does not work call Nissan Corporate and let them know your feelings.
